Everything you could want is in the City Centre with the High Street names generally found on the 'Fargate' pedestrianised area, markets on the 'Moor' pedestrianised area and independent shops in the 'Devonshire Quarter'. From time to time Continental markets and Farmers Markets are held either at 'Fargate' or 'Barkers Pool'. A free bus service called 'FreeBee' runs a circular route around the city centre in the daytime. If, however, the City Centre is just not enough or the weather is rubbish, the Meadowhall complex offers 280 stores under one roof along with a number of catering outlets, many at the 'Oasis' Food Court. Frequent buses, trains and trams serve Meadowhall Interchange, which is linked to the mall by an enclosed footbridge. |

Chemists, banks, police stations etc |
The main dispensing chemists in the City Centre are Boots. The main branch is on High Street, smaller branches are available on Glossop Road and the Moor. There is also a large pharmacy on the Wicker which often opens late night. The police station serving the City Centre is located on Snig Hill. Most banks are located around High Street and Fargate, however there are ATM machines across the City Centre. The closest bank to the AGM venue is the University branch of HSBC, located by the tram stop. The Visitor Information Centre is located on Norfolk Row, just off Fargate and near the Theatres. More information can be found on the Sheffield City Council website. |
