The Members bar is your friendly local during the Members Weekend, open exclusively to CAMRA Members attending the event. The Members Bar is a small beer festival staffed by volunteers with a selection of real ales, mainly showcasing our local breweries, plus a range of Ciders and Perries. The Members Bar will be located in the food court at University House, linked to the Octagon Centre by a footbridge. Food will be available for those visiting the members bar from the University House food counters. In the morning set yourself up with a bacon sandwich and coffee, lunchtime and evening choose from a range of sandwiches and hot meals. Visitors enjoying food and drink from the Members Bar and food counters will find plenty of tables and seating for their use in the adjoining City View Coffee lounge and the upstairs Common Room. Toilets, soft drinks and hot drinks are also available in University House and there is direct access from the University Concourse via a staircase or lifts. Some workshops may also take place in University House. Members Bar - how it works When you arrive you need to buy a Members Weekend glass. These are pint glasses (with half pint lines) bearing the Members Weekend logo and also the logos of the two glass sponsors (Abbeydale Brewery and Bradfield Brewery). Our bar will only serve beer & cider into the official glasses. When you leave you can keep your glass as a souvenir or hand it in at the glass stand in exchange for a token (to get a glass on your next visit) or your money back. (Note broken glasses cannot be exchanged or refunded!) Once armed with your glass you are ready to go to the bar, the majority of beers and ciders will be served by gravity direct from the cask, look for the labels on the end of the casks with details of the beer, simply order which beer or cider you want and the bar staff will fill your glass accordingly and take payment in cash.
