Be part of the story!

Can you believe this year is the 36th annual Steel City Beer & Cider Festival? All of them organised and staffed by volunteers from Sheffield & District CAMRA?

In the past the festival has been held in Student Unions and Working Mens Clubs but we are now into our fourth year as a tented festival in Cemetery Park and each year we have got bigger and better as more people have come to drink with us, this year we will again be having two marquees but they will be bigger.

Otherwise usual format, massive real ale bar with about 100 beers, cider bar with a great choice of real ciders and perries along with a selection of continental bottled beers, fruit wines and soft drinks. There will be the usual tombola and CAMRA membership stand, stage for live music, Saturday charity quiz and food stands outside including Yuleys Bratwurst which proved popular last year.

To make it all happen we need volunteers to set it all up, staff it during opening hours, keep it all secure overnight and take it all down afterwards.

Volunteer staff do get some benefits for being part of the success story - you of course get in for free, get to try the draught beers & ciders for free and if you work more than two open sessions you get a free staff shirt. Night Stewards also get supper and breakfast provided and those helping with takedown on Sunday get a meal afterwards. If you work until close on Saturday there is a staff party afterwards. It can of course be hard work, but enjoyable all the same!

Fancy it?
